Ksenija Đurović

Ksenija is a cultural worker based in Belgrade focusing on organisation and production models in the independent art scene. Holds a BA from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Belgrade where she was also undergraduate PA (2008-2010).

Since 2011 has worked as project coordinator with Station Service for contemporary dance, an organisation working adamantly for the development of this field in Serbia. Coordinated several projects in Station which involved developing new practices for work with children, mentoring and other educational programmes for critical writing, residencies, international cooperation and coproduction, advocacy etc. Ksenija is active in Magacin, a self-governed, independent cultural centre which is (still) illegal after attempts by the City of Belgrade to close it.

Ksenija produces independently in both contemporary performing and visual arts. She works with the younger generation of choreographers like Dragana Bulut, Igor Koruga, Ana Dubljević, Jovana Rakić and Marko Milić. She has produced an international group exhibition Invisible Violence with curator Zoran Erić (MoCAB) and an exhibition by Katarina Popović (Remont).

In November 2018 she co-founded BRINA with curator Mirjana Dragosavljević in hopes to develop their own feminist, inclusive, critical work in visual/performing arts starting with their exhibition in the Belgrade Cultural Centre - Migrations (July 2019).

Ksenija went through different informal educational programmes like Socialism studies (CPE, Belgrade), is currently attending Studies of the Commons (zajedničko.org) and is a former fellow of Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart. Since October 2018 she is the programme producer of Bitef, one of the region's oldest theatre festivals.

Ksenija is a Managing Board member of the Association Independent Cultural Scene of Serbia where she works on projects involving participative governance, monitoring of public spending and decentralisation of culture in Serbia.
